چکیده

diagnosis and prediction of recovery. Among the various modalities of imaging, spinal ultrasound appears to be very promising and hence is recommended as the first modality of imaging(4). However, it should be remembered that changes are known to occur in the lesion over time and a single ultrasound may not pick up all lesions. Hence, it is not surprising that ultrasound of the cervical spine was found normal in Case 1. If ultrasound findings do not correlate with the clinical features, a second imaging technique such as MRI should be done. Skeletal lesions seen on plain radiograph of the spine or CT are relatively uncommon(l,4).

Multiple Congenital Epulis of the Mandibular Ridge: A Case Report

Congenital epulis is a very rare benign soft-tissue tumor of uncertain histogenesis, which is also known as “gingival granular cell tumor of the newborn”. It occurs almost exclusively as a single tumor along the alveolar ridge of the maxilla in newborn females. Although congenital epulis is strikingly similar to the more common adult granular cell tumor histologically, in contrast to the latter...

Gingival granular cell tumor of the newborn: a case report and review of literature.

The etiology and histogenesis of granular cell tumor are still debated. Granular cell tumor of the newborn is considered to be a different entity than the adult form of this lesion with different immunohistochemical features. We present a case of a rare gingival granular cell tumor in a newborn and review the literature. Gingival granular cell tumor must be clinically differentiated from terato...

Congenital gingival granular cell tumor. A case report.

Congenital gingival granular cell tumor is a rare benign lesion of uncertain origin, which has been found only in newborn infants. This article describes one such case. Our immunohistochemical study employing antibodies against S-100 protein, epithelial membrane antigen, carcinoembryonic antigen, wide-spectrum keratin, desmin and vimentin yielded data supporting the theory of a mesenchymal cell...

Congenital Granular Cell Epulis (Neumann’s Tumour): A Rare Case Report

Neumann’s Tumour/Congenital Granular Cell Tumour (CGCT)/Granular Cell Epulis Of Infancy is a rare lesion of newborn. It is benign in nature, arising from the alveolar ridge of the gingiva. It is seen more frequently in female neonates. It may cause respiratory and feeding problems.Herewith, we present a case report of CGCT arising from the upper gingival margin of female neonate, treated with s...

Prenatal Diagnosis of Granular Cell Tumor

Congenital granular cell tumor (GCT) is a relatively rare intraoral benign tumor, approximately 200 cases of which have been reported in the neonatal period worldwide. The newborn infant may have feeding problems and respiratory difficulties due to airway obstruction. This lesion may be diagnosed by prenatal ultrasonography and simple resection is mostly required. We report a case of an adult t...
